Kaiju Painting

For those of you that don't know about Kaiju toys, they are basically pretty expensive vinyl designer toys of retro looking monsters. Back in January, my good friend Jeff Wong (who has a crazy collection of Kaiju toys) gave me a few of his Kaiju pencil illustrations for me to color. This past September I chose one of his illustrations to paint and give to him as a birthday gift. Below is his black and white illustration followed by my colored version along with some photos of the process. I used gouache  paint on card board. Enjoy :)

Hurray for Kaiju's!!!

Character design?

For the past two months I've been working on developing some character designs. This is one of them. Finally got a chance to clean her up. :)

Drawing with Nathan Fowkes part.1

This past summer I had the privilege of taking a class with Nathan Fowkes at LAAFA. The class was a bit challenging but I learned a great deal and had great results. He went over the human form, composition, and color. Definitely a very knowledgeable instructor not to mention he has some crazy skills! Here is some of the work from that class.
